Cannot Find Keywords Followers Campaigns on Twitter UI

Dear Twitter Staff,

On the Twitter UI, the followers campaigns do not allow you to select Keywords. Is this by design?

Via the API, I am able to create a campaign with Keywords and it does spend. This seems like a hidden rule, can someone please advice?

Not allowing keyword targeting for promoted accounts is an intentional choice on the part of the UI team. However, as you mentioned, keyword targeting can be used for Promoted Accounts through the API. If we remove that ability from the API, we’ll be sure to give this community heads up.

Do you know the reasoning behind not allowing keyword targeting on the Followers campaigns? Are there any drawbacks to using keyword targeting on Followers campaigns?
