Automatically showing card previews?

I noticed that a lot of people have Twitter cards that show up automatically, i.e. you don’t have to click to expand the tweet to see them; they’re already there. I am using the large picture summary, and mine work properly when expanded but do not show up automatically like images would on Twitter. Is there a way to change this?

This is how Cards work - you need to click through the View Summary link in order to see the detail view with the Card.

The exceptions Tweets with Cards that are promoted via the Ads platform, and some publishing partners.

If you attach an image directly to a Tweet, then it will appear in the timeline.
