Automated following of users

Hey,

Is it allowed to go through a large list of usernames and automatically follow them? I’m building a service that analyzes hashtags from followed users. Having an automated following-process would save me a lot of time and effort.

This is an old post and I can’t believe the Twitter admins haven’t replied. It’s against Twitter policy to mass/bulk follow or unfollow users. You’ll likely get your account blocked or removed from Twitter.

Confirmed. I also found out that there’s a limit to the amount of users you can follow in a day and in overall. Per day it’s around 1000, and the overall limit varies on details that Twitter doesn’t tell, but is around 2000 for regular users.
