Hi,

as far as I can make out, Facebox should work as is in Firefox.

I found this site:-

and there is a section that says:-

You can have the popup box show your images too! All you need to do is add "rel=facebook" to any link (in red)

Test it out the unmodified window here: Kitty!

I clicked the link ‘Kitty!’ and the modal window appeared for me, I am currently using FF5.

Prehaps you could ask there.

Bear in mind that Facebox is now no longer updated by the developer.

Hi,
It seems like twitter API has some problems regarding the browsers like firefox and chrome. The line below works fine in Internet Explorer and I can bind and display a “Connect with Twitter” button in the div. When it comes to firefox or chrome binding fails and button not displayed.

Can you help me out with this issue please

I recommend starting a new topic thread to discuss the issue you are having. When you start that new thread, include a bit more context of the kind of HTML and Javascript you’re using and any special circumstances your page might have as far as page load order or dynamic insertion of content is concerned.

Hello, I need to get both “Follow” and “Tweet” buttons in Iframe code, but can’t seem to get it to work from what I found on your dev site. I never saw a button that would “generate code” for me to apply to my website forum which is .php based and doesn’t work well with Java.

Hi @cvmora

Presently, our widgets.js code that is used by the Tweet Button only invokes on load. As soon as the user sorts on your site and the content redraws, the buttons will disappear because we do not reload that JS. We’ll investigate adding that functionality, so thanks for pointing it out.

In the meantime, you can consider using the iframe integration, which will draw the button directly since iframes render by themselves.

The only problem is that these tag generators only generate java tags. I need IFrame tags. And yes, I read all those pages and searched all over. If you can generate the iframe tag and post it here, or email it to me for both buttons, that would be great, or send me to a tag generator for Iframe tags.

Implemented Follow button using the Javascript approach - have two questions:

My XHTML is doctype 1.0 Strict, but the data-show-count and data-width attributes are not valid XHTML…

is there any way to use this Follow button intent without braking the validity of the page?

and it doesn’t seem to work when clicking on the button from localhost / 127.0.0.1 - is that a known limitation?

Hi Adrian,

HTML5 data attributes are the only way to pass in configuration options for the JavaScript-invoked versions of our buttons. If validity against non-HTML5 DOCTYPEs is mandatory, it is possible to include a Follow Button (and Tweet Button) by directly referencing them using an in your page rather than the link (see: <a href="https://dev.twitter.com/docs/follow-button#using-an-iframe">https://dev.twitter.com/docs/follow-button#using-an-iframe</a>). Alternatively, you could move to validating against the ‘XHTML5’ XHTML serialization of HTML5 (<a href="http://blog.whatwg.org/xhtml5-in-a-nutshell" rel="nofollow noopener">http://blog.whatwg.org/xhtml5-in-a-nutshell</a>)

I have implemented Tweet Box using the @Anywhere feature and it is working perfectly. But I have an additional requirement: I want to store the logged in user information. Is it possible using @Anywhere or any other integration, but javascript.

We’re testing the tweet button on our internal web site. All was well - until we moved the code onto our QA server, which is not visible to the world. I suspect in order to test the button we need to open a port for twitter to communicate with our site, am i right? And if so, which port(s)? Please advise. I’ve already sent a message to support with no response.

Say somebody is already following, but I ask them to click the follow button again. I want to be able to run some JavaScript IF they are already following and clicked the follow button.

I know you can run JavaScript when the click it, but that will also apply to non followers.

I completely agree with @andrew13nguyen above- the fact javascript events do not work “offline” should be made really blindingly obvious in the docs. Just spent hours trying to work out why the simplest follow button intent would not work from file://whatever.html its not mentioned anywhere you gotta run this from a host to get web intent callbacks.
I’d also like to see mention it is not XHTML valid.

On the other hand, I’m thrilled me call back is finally working!
