Do these buttons support web mobile?

I build websites for mobiles (mostly for iphone) and from what I noticed twitter web pages/popups that appear after clicking on any twitter button like Tweet button or Twitter connect button (using anywhere js) are not user-friendly on iphone at all,user has to zoom and even scroll horizontally and vertically to see the content.

TweetButton often returns worng counts for share urls. Sometimes there is a timeout. Thats ok. But sometimes it displays totaly wrong counts. One of our URLs somtimes returns 300 and someties 30000. It seems to be a caching issue. Or are the datacenters not in sync?

The pop-up interfaces for Tweet Button, Follow Button, OAuth authorization screens, and all Web Intent interfaces (RT, Fave, Reply) are designed to work nicely on smartphones, without zooming or scrolling. They all have dedicated CSS to work at the iPhone’s resolution. If you’re running into scrolling or zoom issues, please let us know.

We do need to phase in some retina-display resolution graphics still, but the layout should be just right.

However, the older Twitter Connect/@anywhere interfaces were not built with mobile in min, so your mileage may vary. I would expect them to function fine, but default scale may not be optimal.

I’m using the latest version of anywhere js and I developed a simple page to show you my issue,here is the link:

open it from your iphone browser,click on “connect with twitter” button and look at the oauth popup; the page is small and user has to zoom-in to see the content properly,this is just one of the issues I faced with using twitter popups in mobile,not to mention that cancel button in few popups doesn’t work,twitter support fixed one of the popups but didn’t fix the others.

Note: I opened tickets for these issues but no response from twitter support at all and I’ve been waiting for a week,I even talked about one of my issues in twitter talk groups:

I am having the same issue, the count NEVER updates, even days later? The tweets do get tweeted though… my code

After a lot of tests from our QA team,we found out that Twitter popups/pages doesn’t work properly within UIWebView in iphone;cancel buttons doesn’t work in many popups,screens in few popups are small and user has to zoom-in to see the content or scrolling horizontally and vertically,we’ve been able to reproduce most of these issues on PCs too and on most known browsers.

We’ve posted our issues everywhere in twitter;twitter support,twitter development talk…etc but no response for about 10 days so far on all of our issues,not even a single response.

So because of Lack of support from twitter on all of these issues and our developers can’t fix these issues from their side since they can be fixed only from twitter side we have no choice but to remove twitter buttons and APIs from all of our projects for the time being and stick to facebook only since it’s working perfectly without any issues,we’re not happy with this decision but we have no choice.

Anyway,I want to thank Ben Ward from twitter support for fixing one of the issues.

Hi folks. I have a tweet button on a website that isn’t updating its count. Here is my syntax:

When this is clicked, I get into the Twitter post page, with the Textarea filled out propertly. The bit.ly URL in the data entered into the textarea resolves properly, so I am not sure why it isn’t working. The right information is indeed going through the system, but Twitter isn’t registering the url as being posted.

Any idea what I am doing wrong?

Everything looks correct, but there could be several reasons. Let me start by asking some questions:

1. Are you still seeing the problem?
2. Can you share the actual code so I can see if there is anything with the domain?
3. Can you send me a Tweet you’ve done that points to the URL that needs to be included in the count?

Let’s see if we can debug this together.

• We’ve seen the problem since the implementation. This is not a delay of hours, this is where we are not seeing any count incrementation using this method at all.

I am using the Tweet button on a client’s web site: http://ydi.tamu.edu/youth-development-resources, it works fine until you filter the results.

What I’m doing is using JavaScript to filter the table, so I need to have the Twitter JavaScript SDK “refresh” so that it renders all the Tweet buttons on the page again.

Is there any JavaScript function I can call to do this?

You listed the twice in your code snippet above, but, when I viewed source of the page, I only found it once. Just to be sure, your page only has the once, right?

Also, can you trying moving the tag inside the of the page to see what happens? I am not sure if the JS is interfering with some other element. It’s hard to diagnose this one.

Um, since creating some noise in the Twitterland, it seems to be related to Issue 2292. The tweets have started to show up as I think they’re working on URL recognition through the t.co engine and associated parsing. So it has moved forward.

I’ll keep an eye on how she performs. If this has further strange behaviour I will post here. Do you get notified when I post?

I find that there are not valid W3C code.

The tweet button alone didn’t work for me so I just used the combination reply, tweet, and follow. I really didn’t have much time to troubleshoot it. I had deadlines to meet.

I have a project where my company has a number of shops. Each shop has its own twitter account, so i have created a pop up window for each shop that has a twitter widget and a follow button.

They work fine in IE8 but Firefox won’t display them in the pop up window, it just redirects them to a blank tab and then back home again.

I can’t see a reason why not as the popup div’s also need js coding as well as css for styling.

Sorry, I hold my hands up for this one, I’m not particularly good at Jquery or Java. The popup jquery i’m using at the moment is ‘facebox’.

How would I incorporate window.open into this?
