Are Twitter Card Images Allowed to be Updated After the Tweet?

Wondering if there is any policy against updating the underlying image referred to by the Twitter Card metadata after a tweet has been posted?

Here’s an example use case:

At 8 AM, I post a tweet with the forecast for the next 12 hours in my location.
A user who opens the tweet at 8:01 AM and views the twitter card sees an image that contains the forecast for 8AM - 8PM.
My site updates the image periodically, but does not post a new Tweet.
A user who opens the tweet at say 12:00 PM and views the twitter card sees an image that contains the forecast for 12PM - 12AM.

We do not have a policy that would prevent the scenario you describe. But we do cache images on our side so this would not work (images are cached for up to 7 days).

Thanks for getting back to me. I guess this leaves me at a dead end with this idea, but put me down for a product enhancement for a “don’t cache this image” metadata flag!
