Approval for Account Activity API and sunset of existing endpoints

Seeing some discussion here of long approval windows for the Account Activity API (of 1-3 months). If we’re looking to replace functionality from the existing user_streams API due to be deprecated on June 18, what is the likelihood that an application will be evaluated in time to develop a viable replacement by this deadline?

In my experience, in most cases where there has been a long approval window, the original application for access was unclear.
