I am developing a scientific web application at a major German Research Center.
I am currently implementing social authentication through twitter.
I created a new twitter account for the research group which will be running the web app.
Applying for the twitter developer account, a phone number is required.
However, I cannot provide a telephone number since there is no phone associated with the research group.
What are my options?

It’s awkward but you will need a valid mobile phone number - i suggest getting a cheap PAYG sim with whatever common telephone company you have, or just use your own one. I would not use any sort of online SMS service for this. I’ve seen accounts loose access to the phone number this way, or the accounts got flagged as suspicious somehow later.
