Hello. I’m doing my masters program and I had picked a topic to analyze longitudinal twitter data, assuming I’d have access via API v2. I got approved back in May (I did this when I was clarifying my topic), but when I created my app in December, I received an application suspension notice email, even though I hadn’t used my credentials yet to access any data. Was it due to using a VPN, or because my account was inactive for some time?

I already filled the help form, is there anything else I can do? I was hoping to access the data over the holidays, otherwise I will not be able to finish my research on time.

Thanks!

I would suspect this more than the inactivity. If you already filled in the form App is suspended or restricted there’s not much more you can do, apart from wait.

Ok thanks! Wish I was more careful, but didn’t even think it’d be an issue.

Hey! I expect I have a similar issue:

Created a new Twitter account with my work email (maybe this flagged me) and with that created the OAuth2 app. It got the limited state almost right away.

I did send in a support request 5 days ago and since the alert message also states that I should not create new apps while waiting for a response, my hands are pretty much tied and my work is currently blocked

Any advice on what to do here or maybe an estimate on how long it will take to resolve the issue?

I have also faced the same issue… I do not know which of the rules could have been violated because I have just registered the account a couple a days ago in order to apply for academic access, (which I have already been granted), and created an app only because it was suggested as a next account registration step. I have not used this app all because I was waiting for the response to the academic access application - just generated the keys and saved them.
