Application IP blacklisted

The systems hosting our application seem to be ip blacklisted by the Twitter API. What needs to change on our end to avoid this happening in the future? We have a number of large brands depending on this application (UPS, Hilton, Intercontinental, A&E), so a resolution would be greatly appreciated.

All machines affected can’t access the API at all:

I would recommend using the last option on https://support.twitter.com/forms/platform to get help with this – let them know your IP address.

Meanwhile, review how your application uses the API – are you responding to response codes responsibility – if your application sees a high occurrence of 50X or 40X errors, does it exponentially back off from making requests? Often temporary IP address blacklisting is put in place to relieve servers from repeated, failing requests.

There were a few “(__-){ Twitter is over capacity.” and “Twitter is down or being upgraded.” I’ll check and make sure those are being handled correctly.
