APIs to know the location

Hello,

Well am a newbie for Twitter and just created a sample application. I just kept on trying hard different exercises to get better awareness about application development. Though many questions keep revolving in my head i just want to know that-

Is there any possibilty to know the location of the user from where he posted the tweet. If yes, what are the APIs or the methods, techniques that i need to go through to determine the location. I apologize if the question is too basic.

There’s two ways you can go about doing this. Some tweets (very few) have location information in them: either a place or coordinates. For the rest, you can try to parse the location of the sender from the user record. It’s a bit of a guess (maybe they’re travelling), but in aggregate it’s probably OK.
