Hi guys,
I created a Developer account about two weeks ago, I verified my mail and everything seems to be approved, however I didn’t receive from Twitter an API key. I saw on my colleagues accounts that the details of their API key show under the ‘Overview’ on the Developer Portal, but on my portal nothings appears (see file attached)
.
Any idea how can I solve this? Not sure if i’m missing something in the process.
Thanks in advance,
Alon
Thanks for reaching out @AlonGinat
You will have to create a new project. Then connect an app to the project and that app will give you the keys to connect to the API
Hi ,
Thank you for you reply. I am actually a postgraduate student and want to use the API for studying purposes, and so I don’t have an app to connect to the project (unless I need to put my university’s name as the app?). Would appreciate your help.
Thank you,
Alon
Given that you have an approved developer account, you will need to go ahead and create a Project, and an App to generate the keys you will use, the exact details in the app don’t really matter much, see Projects overview | Docs | Twitter Developer Platform and Twitter developer Apps overview | Docs | Twitter Developer Platform (personally i find the Project / App distinction confusing, but this is the way they’ve made it)
Ah Ok that seemed to work, I thought that I needed to connect an actual app to it.
Thank you very much!
