I want to know what are the things to take note to build a twitter bot without getting suspended? Anyone experienced in this can share?
I am building a NFT related bot that tweets automatically whenever a high ranking wallet bought a collection. The tweets looks like these:
1C22 (Rank #105) bought CityDAO Citizen from #citydao #CityDAOCitizenship for 0.351eth
HaOo0o (Rank #357) bought Dented Feels #1332 from #DentedFeelsNFT for 0.167eth
These tweets don’t happen very frequently, probably only <10 tweets per hour.
I have also taken the following precaution:
- Marked the twitter account as a bot, labelling it is “Automated by xxx”
- Not tagging, DM, or replying any user without their consent, only hashtags of the specific collection relevant to that tweet.
Will this bot be banned/suspended?
Any app or account that falls is detected as having unusual or spam-like behaviour may be restricted by our automated systems. In this case the Tweet you’re specifying does have a relatively large number of hashtags (although a couple of them are “rank numbers”, the platform will see them as the same as hashtags). If you’re posting a lot of similar content like this it might well be seen as problematic - I’m not able to tell you that it would not be suspended. However, if you are following the rules and not annoying other users - and as you mentioned, you’ve already marked it as an automated account - then those are good signs.
If you do run into issues then you can use the API Policy form to request assistance.
