Today we are announcing a new ads account permission. This new role, represented as
CAMPAIGN_ANALYST in the Ads API and returned in the GET accounts/:account_id/authenticated_user_access endpoint, will allow users to view campaigns and analytics data for ads accounts, but will not allow them to create or modify campaigns. These permissions can only be granted via ads.twitter.com.
As a reminder, there are two ways to get access to an ads account:
- Obtain Advertiser User OAuth Tokens
- Use Your OAuth Tokens via an Ads Manager Role
With the first approach, rate limits are distinct per advertiser. With the latter, all advertisers share a single rate limit pool. As a result, we strongly recommend that partners use the first approach.
The documentation will be updated shortly.
