Add country filter to Timeline widget

Hi I’m trying to add a country filter to a timeline widget.

I’ve created a widget using the widget builder that outputs:

I want this to bring back tweets from England only unfortunately the above seems to bring alot of tweets from the USA

I have tried adding “near:england” and “near:GB”

If I do a search on twitter and append &country=england or country_code=GB or iso3=GB that seems to filter down to England.

However if I add that to the widget code it seems to ignore it?

Can anyone advise or point me in the direction of a tutorial?

Search widgets are not configured by modifying the include code – have you tried adjusting your query settings in the widget configurator? The widgets don’t support all the options you’ll find in Twitter Search.
