Add a Follow button to email signature?

thank you. i ended up cutting + saving a ‘follow’ logo as a jpg, combined it w/my @ address, inserted a hyperlink to my twitter page + added to my email signature. seems to be working.

I just did a hyper link to the words’ follow us on twitter’ and that seems to be working, I send out marketing emails by Groupmail

This is less of a follow button and more of a link through to your twitter page. I have actually been hoping to do the same thing of embedding a button that actually enacts the process of the person following me.
Have there been any new thoughts about how this could be done?

this is the way i did it:

go to https://twitter.com/about/resources/buttons#follow
choose ‘follow’ in ‘choose a button’
type your username in ‘Button options/user’
test it by clicking the button under ‘preview and code’
righ-click that button and ‘copy link location’
on a previously pasted twitter logo on your email signature click the hyperlink button
paste the code

The instructions from James works, thanks for that. I would add that if you wanted to use the “follow button” image with your username on it, you take a screenshot of it when you’re getting the code above and save that as an image too, then use the instructions to add the hyperlink to the image - that worked too.

Obviously doing something wrong …

did step one and had the link…

But never able to hyperlink to logo I added to my HOTMAIL signature… only the code posted, not added to logo

I followed James Hutt and got it.
To clarify the process:

take a screen shot of the follow@username button from https://twitter.com/about/resources/buttons#follow
Upload the photo to your signature. I use gmail I uploaded it privatly on my Googleplus page then copied the image location (control click/right click) Then insert put it in your signature.
Copy the link from the follow button below “Preview and code” (control click/right click) Highlight the follow button you just uploaded to your signature. Then use the link function to link the address you copied from the button to your photo of the button.

James Hunt was on the right track and his solution works. However a better solution is to copy the actual iframe code that previews the button from https://twitter.com/about/resources/buttons#follow

This allows it to show up on any email client that allows HTML even if the user has images disabled. Following James hunt, you will just have a text link if this is the case.

Modified Steps:

go to https://twitter.com/about/resources/buttons#follow
choose ‘follow’ in ‘choose a button’
type your username in ‘Button options/user’
test it by clicking the button under ‘preview and code’
right-click that button and ‘inspect element’
Using the code inspector, copy the code that contains the button.
paste the code where you desire it. (Signature or email body)

That’s it! You should have a fully functional twitter button in your email with hover effects and all.

My last comment isn’t all true. It will only work on certain email clients. I wasn’t aware of this at the time. So by default James Hunt posted the best method since there is greater email client compatibility using the image link method he suggested,.
