I have received hundreds of reports of account switching failing for several days now. I would like to know if this is a bug or if there is a problem with my implementation.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Log in to twitter.com with User A
  2. Log in to twitter.com with User B ← Current user is B and it is possible to switch to A
  3. Log in to my-app.com via “Log in with Twitter” ← B is automatically selected
  4. Log in to my-app.com via “Log in with Twitter” with specifying force_login=true and enter A’s id/pass
  5. “This account is already logged in.” is displayed and the screen stops processing

Initially, the above procedure will reproduce the problem, but sometimes nothing goes wrong.

My application has been in operation for 10 years and the login mechanism has not been changed recently.

Hi there – We implemented a change to the login process a couple of days ago which ultimately ended up causing issues across the platform. Yesterday, we reverted this update to fix this.

Can you please let us know if these processes are working properly for your users again?

Thanks for responding. I think the problem is probably on its way to being resolved as the number of inquiries has been greatly reduced.
