I’m wondering if there is a way to increase transparency on the developer account application.

I’ve developed two apps using twitter in the past. I submitted an application a few weeks ago and my account was revoked. I was hoping to play around with some of the new labs features and want to use the APIs in a compliant way. But right it looks like my account is revoked without a good way to move forward.

Hi Joe, we cannot comment on (or even access) specific applications and use cases, for privacy reasons, which I’m personally happy about - as I don’t want more access to information that I don’t need, than is appropriate to my day-to-day role. The right way to seek help for an individual application is via the API support forms https://help.twitter.com/forms/platform.

Totally understand that (it sounds like) you’re frustrated that a developer application has been turned down. At this time there is no way to reapply or adjust a use case you might have applied for. Posting here is unfortunately not going to change this, but you are welcome to post more about your use case on twitterdevfeedback.uservoice.com for our product team to hear more about your concerns.

Your comment on transparency is also well taken and understood. We do our best here, but honestly, a large part of the challenge is (sadly) that transparency can lead to the “bad folks” gaming our systems in a negative manner. As a developer myself, I totally hear you, and empathise with your frustration - you would like clear and binary lines, and your use case may well fit within those (I don’t know, I cannot see it, for reasons above); but I’d also ask you to appreciate the scale we work at and the need to protect our users.

Thank you for this post, honestly, it’s helpful to inform our teams. I cannot say things will change in the short term, but we do hear you.
