I’m likely getting way ahead of myself on this since the roadmap shows it still as being in the brainstorming phase (I think that’s what that means at least) but figured I’d go ahead and ask/suggest anyways.
As there seems to be a lot of events included in the activity hooks, is there going to be a way to only opt into certain events? For example, say my platform only cared about events relating to being retweeted. Would there be a way to opt into only those event notifications? It really doesn’t matter too much because developers can just detect the event type and ignore anything that they aren’t interested in but I can see a benefit in not having the events fired for no reason once your application is at scale (would probably be better for Twitter too).
