Hi @jessicagarson,

I’m currently taking my gap year before attending graduate school, and working as a research assistant with professor Bruno Abrahao at New York University Shanghai on a research project involving usage of Twitter API.

Unfortunately, my situation makes me face trouble with providing the required types of links to help twitter establish my identity:

  • My institution, NYU Shanghai’s faculty directory only lists professor and post docs.
  • I’ve not published my working paper yet, so I cannot apply for a Google Scholar page.
  • My professor Bruno Abrahao does have a research homepage, but doesn’t maintain the directory of his research group on it.

Instead of disturbingly asking my professor to develop a new directory page for his homepage, I wonder may I invite my professor Bruno Abrahao to send you a confirmation email on my research identity with his working email listed on his website.

I’ve tried to reply to the developer-accounts email, but then received an auto-generated template email without directly reply on the feasibility of my proposal. Thank you for reviewing my application, and sorry to take up your time on such an edge case.

My ticket id was: Case# 0223565695

I think your professor may have a better chance at being accepted, and then you can get the bearer token and make calls. I’ve some notes on this here if it helps: Twitter Developer Access - twarc

Hi IgorBrigadir, thank you so much for your nice suggestion  But unluckily my professor has already applied the Twitter API for another research project of him, and with regard to the research I made the application for I would be the primary developer. That’s why my professor encouraged me to apply in my individual account. But anyway, thank you for the nice suggestion and the useful link with additional information I didn’t find on twitter API’s official website!
