Dear Twitter Developer Team,
I am very sad for the non-approval of my academic/research access. This forces me to rewrite and rethink my whole project since the elevated access does not allow me to investigate tweets from the beginning of the year.
Please note that Universities of Western Europe normally cannot provide the information you need for an approval (student directory, listings on labs/departmental website, etc.). This excludes a major part of the academic people just wanting to do good projects for educational purposes.
Is there any way to somehow - under the limitations of the elevated access - at least query tweet data from 2022/01/01 until today? That would be fantastic.
Please also note: The workaround with the enterprise premium access is financially impossible for 99% of all students.
Thanks in advance for your help!

The only other way i know is using the v1.1 Premium API Premium Search Tweets: Full-Archive API | Docs | Twitter Developer Platform (you can use twarc like this twarc1 (en) - twarc ) the free tier is very limited but may be enough for a small sample. Or, using an existing dataset and hydrating tweets can work out: eg, https://catalog.docnow.io/
Alternatively, your principal investigator or professor or suprvisor with a public profile may be able to apply on behalf of the project: Twitter Developer Access - twarc
Unfortunately their system doesn’t allow for re-applications, sadly. Hope they change it.
