404 While adding users to the control stream

#1

Intermittently I keep getting a 404 error while adding users to the site stream via the add_user.json endpoint on the control stream. The error message is either a “Not Found” or “control stream delivered to wrong server”. One of the sample endpoints that I get this error on is https://sitestream.twitter.com/2b/site/c/1_7681173743328393329_278fcc6e139bec93145d156f06488674/add_user.json. Reconnecting sometimes fixes the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I’m looking into this issue but don’t have anything to report about it yet. Hopefully will know more tomorrow.

Same here. We are using sitestreams and have a big userbase to add to these sitestreams. Following the best practices, we first create the connection with up to 50 users, and once we receive the control_uri, start adding batches via add_user.json. When adding these batches, we almost always get 404 not found errors, even when, apparently, the first batch of 50 users has been correctly added to the stream (different endpoint, though).

Looks like this is fixed, I tried reconnecting as per the update on this issue https://dev.twitter.com/issues/1426. User additions go fine now and no errors.

Yes. No change in our code and today everything works as before. Thanks!
