401 Unauthorized

#1

Hey
I was making aplication for mobile web page.
When i last worked on app (about 1 week ago), everything worked great.
No i started the app, and i get “401 Unauthorized” all the time.
I triple checked all the creidtials and all the urls, callbacks, everything is ok.

Im using Ruby on Rails. And my website, and callback url is http://10.4.1.75:3000 and http://10.4.1.75/auth/twitter/callback
I couldnt find any info, why and what happened… only that twitter changed something, but i cant understand what…
Hope someone will help me…

EDIT:

I suspect this could be due to twitter changing their API and no longer supporting basic authentication. See: http://drupal.org/node/404470 and http://blog.twitter.com/2010/08/twitter-applications-and-oauth.html

I love this quote “Fortunately, developers have known about our transition to OAuth since last December, so they’ve had time to update their apps”…

Crazy that so many devs had no idea about this…
great work twitter… who will pay for site downtime, i wonder…

If you’re using OAuth and callback URLs, then this will have little to do with basic auth. OAuth is complicated though – we have a lot of documentation about it on this site. Sometimes errors like this are as simple as having you’re system clock set incorrectly. Sometimes they are more complicated… here are some troubleshooting tips: [node:204].
